In 2000, at the age of 16, Jim Alexander began his Taekwondo training at the school under Master Deese and trained with him until his family moved to Charlotte NC, where he continued his Taekwondo training under Sean Wilson. Here he earned his Senior Certified Instructor certification and taught for the school. Over the years, Mr. Alexander accumulated numerous regional and national championship trophies.

Mr. Alexander's dream was to own his own Taekwondo America school and his dream came true in 2007 when Mr. Deese contacted him and asked if he was interested in taking over his Winston-Salem school. Mr. Alexander said yes and moved back to his roots in Winston-Salem where, on September 1, 2008, he became the new owner of the school, now known as Jim Alexander's Taekwondo America.
