Taekwondo is a modern Korean martial art based upon the ancient Korean martial art of Taekyon Taekwondo literally means "Punch" "Kick" "Way" that translates to "The way of punching and kicking" Taekwondo is the most popular martial art in the world and is an Olympic medal sport Our Taekwondo program stress both the martial (sparring) and the art (patterns) of Taekwondo with the goal of achieving perfection of technique, along with the development of character and a warrior spirit. Sparring is a safe way for students to test the techniques they have learned in class against fellow students. Our organization uses no-contact sparring, and competitors are required to wear safety equipment. Patterns (memorized choreographed movements simulating defending against an imaginary attacker) teach students perfection of technique and movement, and build mental and physical discipline. Our Taekwondo classes are strenuous, but are enjoyable for all genders and ages. For more information about Taekwondo visit TKDTutor |
